Brands borrow from religion
Like religions, powerful brands can attract loyalty by fostering a sense of belonging and creating an air of mystery. The success of Weight Watchers is based on its huge global community of followers, while Coca-Cola and Kentucky Fried Chicken keep their recipes top secret. Even Google creates cultivates an air of mystery, closely guarding the workings of its algorithm "search" formula. Meanwhile, the logos of brand giants such as Olympic, Apple and Coca Cola have gained the same level of worldwide recognition and reverence, perhaps, as religious iconography.  (Source: the Marketer)

Obsolete

Obsolete does not always mean useless.
There are two types of obsolescence.Functional obsolescence means a device can no longer perform its intend function or cannot perform it efficiently or safely, and should be replaced.Technological obsolescence means that newer technologies have replaced the old, although the original device may still perform reliably, quickly,and safely.
Although having the latest and best is appealing, it is sometimes, or even often, better to push technology to its limits than to feel obligated to invest in the new.

Re-Branding
During the First World War, the British royal family, an offshoot of the German royal house of Hanover, was still known by the distinctly Teutonic name of Saxe-Coburg Gotha. What's more, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany was George V's first cousin-and these close family ties irked the British public. George V feared that the British royal brand would be tarnished by the wave of anti-German sentiment sweeping the country so, in 1917, he shed the family surname in favour of the more British-sounding Windsor.After this rebrand, he decided to break with tradition once again and allow his children to marry into British commoner ( or non-royal) families to bolster the new House of Windsor's British credentials.
